A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington\, he built a career in corporate communications and marketing before launching Fishhook\, a Christ-centered agency that helped hundreds of churches across dozens of denominations strengthen their communications and outreach. \nAfter stepping away from Fishhook\, Evan served as Creative Pastor at Connect Church (Mt. Juliet) and later as VP of Marketing for Aspen Group\, a church facilities design/build firm. In 2022\, he and his wife\, Debbie\, co-founded Teamness\, a 501(c)(3) ministry offering all-expenses-paid getaways to pastor couples for rest and renewal. Teamness now hosts pastor couples at five locations — in Middle Tennessee\, the Ozark Mountains of Missouri\, and Southwest Montana — with a 100 Net Promoter Score and 95% of guests reporting they leave feeling strengthened and encouraged. \nEvan and Debbie live on a hobby farm in Wilson County with goats\, chickens\, and a donkey. In her role with Wilson County EMA\, she helps lead emergency planning efforts\, provides weather decision support\, and supports disaster response and community preparedness initiatives. \nPrior to joining Wilson County\, Melissa served in key leadership roles with Jefferson County Emergency Management in Alabama\, where she coordinated public information during disasters and major events while overseeing emergency planning\, training\, and risk assessment programs. \nMelissa holds a Master of Science in Emergency Management Disaster Sciences\, is a Certified Emergency Manager through the International Association of Emergency Managers\, and is a graduate of the FEMA National Emergency Management Advanced Academy. Throughout her career\, she has supported numerous disaster responses across the Southeast\, including tornado outbreaks\, flooding events\, the COVID-19 pandemic\, and major special events such as The World Games 2022. \nDuring this meeting\, Melissa will share insights on emergency preparedness\, disaster response\, and how local emergency management agencies work to keep communities safe and resilient. \nThis is a valuable opportunity for business and community leaders to learn more about local emergency management operations and how organizations can better prepare for severe weather and emergency events.
