Jammin’ with the General
COMMITTEE MEETS FOR SUMMER MUSIC SERIES ON THE SQUARE
A sub-committee of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Division met on Tuesday, March 19th to plan a summer music series “Jammin’ with the General” to be held on the Lebanon square.
“We want this event to highlight the Lebanon Square and the local businesses; and to bring an evening of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.” said Sue Vanatta president and CEO of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber. “The Chamber Tourism Committee met and agreed this series of music events would be a great way to feature the city and especially the downtown area.”
The events will be held the third Thursday of May, June and July from 5:30 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
Jammin’ with the General will kick-off on May 16th with Randy Moore and the Fabulous Suedes headlining with a 50’s theme and a cruise-in around the square. Randy and the Fabulous Suedes have opened for top entertainers such as Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Amy Grant, Hank Williams Jr. and many others.
The June 20th event will feature local artist Daryle Singletary. Daryle is best known for his hits, I Let her Lie, Too Much Fun, and Amen Kind of Love. To kick-off the event that evening, this will be your chance to dance on the square. Instructors will be present to teach line dances, couple’s two-step and cowboy cha-cha.
July 18th will kick-off to a County Fair Theme with headliner Tommy Vanatta and The ChessMen. Tommy and his wife Linda are very involved in Wilson County events, and the Chamber. The Chessmen have been seen appearing as the Blues Brothers, and ZZ Top.
These events are free and open to the public. Plan to bring your lawn chair and enjoy Jammin’ with the General in May, June and July. For more information contact the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce or visit the Jammin’ with the General Facebook page.
