Scott McCarver is the President of Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH). Originally from Tupelo, Mississippi, Scott graduated from Mississippi State University with an industrial engineering degree and went on to obtain his master’s in healthcare administration from Pfeiffer University.

In 2015, Scott joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center as vice president of operations for Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital before joining VWCH in 2020 as the chief operating officer transitioning to president in 2021.  Prior to Vanderbilt, Scott was employed by Duke Health, where he served in an administrative role for 15 years.  Scott has an extensive background in operations.  He will use his Vanderbilt experience to provide additional attention and resources to the growth and integration plans of VWCH into the Vanderbilt system, continuing to advance the hospital’s important mission to serve the community.

Scott is currently serving on the board of directors with the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.  He is married to Catherine, and they have one daughter, Caroline.  In his free time, he enjoys outdoor sports such as running, hiking, and camping.
