Join AutismTN and the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library for the launch of a new inclusive program for Autistic patrons. AutismTN and the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library have partnered to launch new programs designed to make the library more inclusive and welcoming for Autistic patrons, neurodiverse families, and the entire community. Thanks to funding from the KFC Foundation, the library will offer:

  • A Sensory-Friendly Space: A relaxing area equipped with adjustable lighting andcomfortable seating to support sensory needs.
  • Sensory Kits: Available for use in the library or to check out, these kits include stim aids and other tools to enhance comfort during library visits or at home.
  • Updated Collections: Books and materials authored by Autistic people, offering neuro-affirming perspectives and valuable insights into neurodiversity.

With the launch of the new programs, AutismTN is hosting a free public presentation, “Introduction to the Autistic Neurotype,” at the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. This engaging session will explore Autistic experiences and ways to create a more inclusive community.
