HISTORY: Wilson County is rich in history. Fiddlers Grove, a pioneer village located at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center has approximately 50 buildings that provide history lessons for young and old. Local families have donated buildings that have been relocated to the village to preserve the history of the area. Guided tours are available by calling 615-444-5503.
Three cities in Wilson County offer many historic sites. The Lebanon Museum located in the City Hall building which is on the former Castle Heights Military Academy begins with the founding of Lebanon and allows you to travel through time to current city life.
Mt. Juliet located west of Lebanon was formed in 1835, incorporated in 1973. Mt. Juliet is called home by Country legends Charlie Daniels and Tracy Lawrence. Rated as one of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee, Mt. Juliet is proud to be the only city in the United States to have its’ name.
Watertown located South East in Wilson County is a 15 minute drive from I-40. A town that was settled in 1797 is famous for a great place to visit for an afternoon of antique shopping and good country dining. Watertown is host to several excursion trains each year as well as a spring and fall Mile Long Yard sale that stretches about 10 miles.
RECREATION: Wilson County has many recreational opportunities. You may enjoy a relaxing round of golf at several public courses. Take a walk, hike, horseback ride, picnic, camp or go fishing at either of the two state parks. Each city offers a community park and playground for adults and children to enjoy.
