The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with its Education Division and Genesco Inc., proudly recognized 56 students from Lebanon High School as Tennessee Scholars during a special presentation held at the school.

The Tennessee Scholars Program is a statewide initiative aimed at increasing the number of high school graduates who are equipped for success in post-secondary education, the workforce, or the military. Students who earn this distinction meet rigorous academic, attendance, and community service requirements, demonstrating their commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

This program underscores the Chamber’s mission to connect business, education, and community to support the development of future leaders. As a proud sponsor, Genesco Inc. continues to invest in initiatives that strengthen workforce readiness across Tennessee.

Mt. Juliet High School TN Scholars

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce had the honor of visiting Mt. Juliet High School to recognize and award 49 outstanding students as Tennessee Scholars — bringing the school’s total number of recipients to an incredible 2,320!

On behalf of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, and our Education Division, we thank the staff and students of MJHS for allowing us to take part in this special moment.

The Tennessee Scholars Program is dedicated to increasing the number of Tennessee high school graduates who are prepared for post-secondary education, the workforce, or the military.

Thursday, May 15, we had the pleasure of celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of Heritage Hall at Legacy Farms with a special Ribbon Cutting and a whimsical Alice in Wonderland-themed Open House. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was conducted by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.

With a powerful vision to lead youth out of homelessness and empower them to live a life that will change a life, The Bridge House provides support and transitional housing for children in the foster care system and young adults ages 18–20 who are aging out of foster care.

This mission-driven organization is filling a critical gap — offering stability, guidance, and hope for a brighter future. We are proud to welcome The Bridge House to Wilson County and stand behind their commitment to creating lasting, positive change.

Teacher Visit – Victoria Claxton

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of visiting Victoria Claxton, a dedicated educator at Byars Dowdy Elementary School and a recipient of the 2024 Teacher Grants, awarded through the Chamber’s Business & Education Coalition.

Several exciting projects are now underway at Byars Dowdy Elementary, thanks to Ms. Claxton’s creativity and commitment to hands-on learning. Her grant-funded project is designed to improve students’ dexterity and hand-eye coordination as they engage with tools and materials in meaningful ways.

Through activities that involve counting, sorting, classifying, and exploring shapes, students are not only developing fine motor skills, but also building a foundational understanding of cause and effect, expanding their vocabulary, and enhancing verbal expression.

Ms. Claxton’s innovative approach reflects a true passion for creating enriching, student-centered experiences that support both academic and personal growth. The Chamber is proud to support her efforts and celebrate the positive impact of this project in the classroom.
