Sports Council Athletic Luncheon

The Wilson County Sports Council, a division of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, hosted an annual luncheon to recognize a male and female student-athlete from each of the Wilson County high schools. Students were nominated by their coaches for their outstanding academic and athletic qualities. Jeff Bennett, former MLB player and owner of the Jeff Bennett Baseball Academy, was the guest speaker during the luncheon. 

This year, the 2015 nominees were:

• Friendship Christian – Abbey Kathleen Hinton – Andrew Lewis Porth
• Lebanon High School – Veronica White – Paul Tribble
• McClain Christian Academy – Madlyn Davis – Jon Whitener
• Mt. Juliet Christian Academy – Amanda Wall – Landon Boy
• Mt. Juliet High School – Summer Adams – Chris Harper
• Watertown High School – Brandie Hill – Dusty Blake Meador
• Wilson Central High School – Taylor Layne Blankenship – Alexander A.J Franklin

The committee selected two students to be awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship each. The 2015 scholarship recipients were Amanda Claire Wall and Paul Stanton Tribble. (above)
