The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce will once again partner with the City of Lebanon, TN – Government and First Baptist Church Lebanon, TN to present Halloween on the Square on Sunday October 31st from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on the Lebanon Downtown Historic Square. As always, there will be plenty of candy for everyone, as well as free hotdogs, grilling courtesy of Public Safety!
 
TIMELINE:
2:00-3:15 Contest sign up
3:15-3:30 Contestants line up by age group in Cabin quadrant
3:30 Contest begins
Each age group will walk around the Square 3-4 times by age group only
Entries may be pulled aside to be entered as finalists
3:50-4:00 Ghoul parade
All age groups walk around Square together in a Ghoul Parade while judges finalize winners. Costume judging
will be during the ghoul parade.
4:00-4:15 Winners announced
 
RULES:
Anyone, any age, is allowed to enter the contest.
Contestants will be split into 4 categories: Ages Birth-5, 6-12, 13+ and groups.
Entries need to remain present throughout the contest to be eligible to receive an award.
By registering, entrants agree to allow event sponsors to use their image for promotion purposes, both photographs and video.
 
PRIZES:
Each category will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each group. The overall best costume will be named “Ghoul of the Night” and receive $100.00 sponsored by Amy Hamilton- Hamilton Homes Group
Stage, music, and Costume Contest presented by HAWK Specialty Services.

              Taste of Wilson County is the premier education fundraiser presented by the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce and the Wilson County Business & Education Coalition that benefits scholarships, Teacher Grants, Tennessee Scholars and the Wilson Books from Birth program.

Join us for a great evening to sample more than 40 vendors for a true taste of Wilson County, from food samples to local boutiques and more! Taste of Wilson County will be held on October 21st at 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Wilson Bank & Trust West Lawn. As of 2021, Taste of Wilson County has given over 600 teacher grants, giving out more than $251,000.      

There will be a fun Battle of the Mascots dance off and annual Grill Off Challenge including, Pie Eating Contest, Kids Valley, LSSD & WCS art buses, displays and entertainment with Double Take Band.  Mac Griffin will be emceeing for the evening. Taste of Wilson County is an event for the whole family. The Kid Valley will include the balloon man, petting zoo, crafts and face painting with Imagine That Art Studio! Enjoy the annual Grill Off Challenge with dignitaries Wilson County Mayor Randal Hutto, City of Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell, Mt. Juliet Vice-Mayor James Maness, LSSD Director of Schools Scott Benson and Wilson County Schools Director Jeff Luttrell.

Returning to Taste of Wilson County for the third year is the Culinary Challenge with  Lebanon High School and Wilson Central High School culinary facing off with former Tennessee Titan Blaine Bishop, News Channel 5 Anchor Nick Beres, and community food enthusiast Brad Major deciding on the winner and school spirit award. Wilson County Schools Public information officer Bart Barker will emcee for the Culinary Challenge.

                Ticket prices are $25 for Adults (ages 12+), $8 for Children (ages 6-11), $15 for Teachers, Free for kids 5 and under. VIP Tickets are $35 and offer a seat in the VIP area as well as a private caterer, Premier Catering Aaron Hudlow and music featuring Lain Tomlinson. 2021 Mike Baker Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Brooke Turner, graduate of Watertown High School for receiving the 2021 Mike Baker Scholarship. She was presented the honor at the Wilson County Fair – TN State Fair by Curt Baker, Education Division Vice-Chair and Melanie Minter, President & CEO.
This scholarship is presented in his memory, sponsored by the Lebanon Wilson Chamber of Commerce, Wilson Bank & Trust and Wilson County Promotions.

Mike Baker was a native of Lebanon. He graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy. He began working for Wilson Bank & Trust in 1991 and would become Vice President and Manager of the main office. He was very active in the community serving as President of the Rotary Club and President for the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber. He was a Leadership Wilson Graduate, served on the Fair board and co-chaired the great giveaway. Mike loved people and there are numerous stories of him helping others in the community. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and always put God and his family first. He passed away in the Fall 2001, survived by his wife Tammy and three children, Austin, Brent & Zack.

Music City Grand Prix

WeGo has announced that 390 tickets for WeGo Public Transit’s special event train from Lebanon to downtown Nashville for the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on Sunday, August 8, 2021 are now on sale. Additional information can be found at WeGoTransit.com.

The train will depart from Lebanon Station at 1 p.m., Hamilton Springs at 1:08 p.m., Martha at 1:15 p.m., Mt. Juliet at 1:25 p.m., Hermitage at 1:35 p.m., Donelson at 1:45 p.m. and arrive at Nashville’s Riverfront Station at 2 p.m. The return train to Lebanon leaves 45 minutes after the conclusion of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix.

An allotment of 390 tickets is available to the general public. Round-trip tickets cost $15 plus a $2 processing fee and are available for purchase through ticketsnashville.comwith a credit card. Tickets will not be for sale on the platforms. Parking is free at all of the outlying stations. Anyone needing special accommodations to board should call 615-862-5950 prior to their trip. Customers will receive only one ticket for the round-trip and will need to show the ticket to train personnel when boarding. Upon boarding, each customer will receive a colored wristband in place of the ticket, which will serve as their train ticket. Customers must show the wristband to the conductor for the return trip.

Children age 4 and younger will not need a ticket to board; however, they are required to sit in a parent or guardian’s lap. Children age 5 and older will need a ticket. Weekday Star tickets and monthly passes are not accepted on the Grand Prix train.

Chamber Tailgate at the Nashville Superspeedway

ATTENTION Race Fans…

The Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Chamber Tailgate at the Nashville Superspeedway Friday, June 18th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. before the festivities and Rackley Roofing 200 truck race begins.

A portion of each ticket ($10.00) will be donated back to the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.
