The Virginia Adams Thackston Reading Room

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held Saturday, March 26th to officially open the new Reading Room at the Lebanon-Wilson County Library. The Virginia Adams Thackston Reading Room was made possible by a gift from the Thackston Family Foundation. Mrs. Thackston was a user and supporter of the Library for over 50 years. She enjoyed going to the Library from the time it was located upstairs in a house on College Street to its present location on Main. Mr. Ed Thackston spoke fondly of the time he checked out books with his brother, Carlton and sister, Gemma when they were young children.
Present were Thackston family and friends, Chairman of the Board Curt Baker, President & CEO Melanie Minter and Chamber representatives including Ambassadors.

State of the City Address

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce was honored to present the annual State Of The City Address. Hosted by Government Relations Division Vice Chairperson Rusty Richardson. A special thank you to Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell for his updates on Population Growth, New Businesses moving to our area, along with an announcement of Phase 1 of the New Sports Complex.

Wilson County Mayoral Candidate Forum

Join us and support your candidates as incumbent, Randall Hutto and Phillip Warren take the stage at a political mayoral forum. Each candidate will have an opportunity to make an opening statement and a closing statement. Each of these statements will be limited to 3- 4 minutes. The order of speaking will be determined by a flip of the coin.
 
Following the opening statements, each candidate will be asked the same question and given time to respond.
Time limit to be determined. Candidates will alternate on who responds first.
 
Candidates will not ask questions of each other.
 
Questions will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to: County growth, quality of life, taxation, economic development, workforce development, education, recreation, etc.

A great evening was had by all last Thursday evening! The Chamber celebrated our Annual Membership Meeting & Awards Celebration with theme “Denim and Diamonds”. It was exciting to highlight local businesses and individuals for their 2021 accomplishments. Jack’s Guitarcheology Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Last Friday we celebrated Jack’s Guitarcheology Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Jack’s Guitarcheology started out in a spare bedroom in a 900 sq. foot house. Now, Jack has a dedicated 650 sq. foot shop located on his acre property just for his Guitarcheological work. Jack remains active in the Nashville and Murfreesboro music scenes. He currently plays bass in These Heathens (Uncle Skunkle)Toxic Culture and Big, if True.  He also plays guitar and sings in his band, Casual Sects, and is on the planning committee for Boro Fondo Festival, a non-profit music festival in Middle Tennessee. Be sure to stop by and see all the amazing guitars he has in the store!!!
